This panel is one of my favorites, and is taken
from a drawing I did of one of my horses
who has passed on since then. I think the
eyes is what really makes this pattern so
real. No matter what angle you view the
panel, they are always looking at you.
The glass is a ring mottle, and has so many
aspects to it, depending on the quality of
light it receives. When the mottle shows,
it has almost a leopard quality, and in the
picture below, it looks like watercolors.
The oval is 13.5 x 20.5 inches. I'd love
to do another one as a paint horse.
